BSID Fellowship for Young Investigators in the UK (value: £1,500)

How to apply:

The BSID awards annually this fellowship to a young investigator in dermatological science or skin biology as a career development award. It is anticipated that the recipient will use the award to attend an international meeting or visit another department to gain further experience.

The applicant should:

  • usually be less than 35 years old and a member of the BSID
  • have a history of publishing high quality, original research articles on skin-related sciences and/or disease
  • have provided evidence of independent research and commitment to a career in investigative dermatology
  • have attended and supported the BSID in the past

Applicants are requested to forward to the Chair:

  • a 500 word submission, describing the proposed use of the Fellowship and a review of their research field and research activities
  • a short CV (2 pages maximum)
  • a covering letter from their Head of Department supporting the proposal


The closing date for award at the 2010 BSID Annual Meeting in Edinburgh is Friday 18 December 2009.
