The BSID organises an annual scientific meeting, which is usually held in April. The location of the meeting varies each year.

The 2009 meeting was held at the Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester (30 March - 1 April).

The 2010 meeting will be held in Edinburgh (12-14 April).
