Highlights from the BSID@BAD2025
BSID Prize winners were at the BAD 105th Annual Meeting in Glasgow (30 June-3 July 2025) to showcase the best research conducted by our Society members.
The BSID was represented in two sessions during the meeting.

Plenary Session
“Bench to bedside science BAD and BSID” co-chaired by Dr Paola Di Meglio (BSID Chair) and Dr Mitesh Patel.
In this session, the Prize winners of BSID 2025 (Solar urticaria is associated with novel rare missense variants in ACACA– Dr Sheila McSweeney and Spatial transcriptomic analysis of healthy human skin reveals fundamental differences between individuals at the extremes of the pigmentary spectrum-Dr Bezaleel Mambwe) , presented their work, alongside selected abstracts among those submitted to the BAD
Invited speaker, selected by the BSID was Dr David Bick, Principal Clinician for the Newborn Genomes Programme at Genomics England
