  • Sustainability will feature strongly within our annual meetings, e.g.  with e-posters showcasing sustainability projects and networking opportunities with   sustainability champions driving the sustainability agenda at their institutions.

Sustainable travel

  • Our annual meetings are held in major UK cities allowing land-based travel and use of public transport
  • BSID committee meetings are virtual ensuring that members do not need to travel to attend them
  • When attending international conferences, the BSID recommends land-based transport to its members where possible

Reducing material consumption and waste

  • Information to conference delegates will be disseminated digitally
  • Physical materials distributed to conference delegates will be limited to essential items which are recyclable.
  • Delegates at our annual meeting will be encouraged to bring their own reusable water bottle, pens and writing materials.
  • Where possible electronic poster boards will be used to replace printed materials
